The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the Kansas City Chiefs in Tampa, Florida at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday. The Bucs have become the first team to host the Super Bowl, but this is not their traditional home crowd. The crowd is mixed with fans from all over. Some fans come to the Super Bowl even when their team is not there. We have the normal Chiefs and Buccaneers fans, and finally we have heath workers coming to the game. While I do not know the team they root for, it is good having them come. They deserve it for what they've had to go through in the past year. Regardless of the fans at the Super Bowl, this is going to be good.
Comparisons:
QBs:
Mahomes and Brady are the top 2 QBs in the league. They are two great quarterbacks. The GOAT v. the Prodigy. Mahomes has 1,687 attempts for 1,114 completions (66.03%) in 46 games for 14,152 yards, averaging 8.4 yard per pass with a career long of 89 yards. He has 114 touchdaowns and 24 interceptions. This year, Mahomes has 390 completions for 4,740 yards with 38 touchdowns and 6 interceptions in 15 games. Mahomes has already had a 5,000 yd and 50 TD season (2018). He won the MVP in 2018, won the Super Bowl and the Super Bowl MVP last year. Mahomes is a 1 time All Pro, 3 time Pro Bowler, and won the 2018 AP offensive Player of the year. Brady has 10,598 attempts with 6,778 completions with a 63.96% passing percentage for 79,204 yards. Brady has 581 touchdowns, but 191 interceptions. Brady has had a 50 TD season and a 5,000 yard season, but has never had both in one season. Brady is a 6 time Super Bowl Champion, and a 4 time Super Bowl MVP. He is a 3 time All Pro, a 14 time Pro Bowler, a 3 time MVP, and on the Hall of Fame all 2000s and 2010s team. He is a solidified Hall of Famer. This year, Brady had 610 attempts with 401 completions for 4,633 yards. He has 40 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Mahomes has been better than Brady statistically in the past 2-3 years, but Tom Brady has put up a career that will never be matched. Both QBs seem very similar this year.
RBs
The running back core of both teams are good. The Buccaneers have Ronald Jones II and Leonard Fournette. Jones, out of USC, has 978 yards with 7 touchdowns this year. Fournette has 367 yards with 6 touchdowns this year. The Chiefs have Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Le'Veon Bell, and Darrel Williams. Edwards-Helaire has 803 yards and 4 touchdowns, Le'Veon Bell has 328 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Williams has 169 yards and 1 touchdown. The Bucs' backs are pretty good rushing and recieving. It is the same for the Chiefs' backs, it's the same, but they aren't as good as the Bucs in the rushing column. I think the Buccaneers have the upper hand here, but never doubt the Chiefs running backs.
Receiving Core
The Buccaneers and the Chiefs both have future hall of famers in their recieving cores. The Chiefs and Buccaneers have great cores. The Chiefs have Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman, Sammy Watkins, and Demarcus Robinson. A core of speed and power which works well when they need to air it out or throw a screen. In 2020, they all have a combined 4,139 yards for 35 touchdowns. The Buccaneers has Scott Miller, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown, Mike Evans and Rob Gronkowski. They are built for size with Evans, speed with Godwin, Miller, and Brown, and blocking with Gronkowski. In 2020, they all have a combined 3,453 yards and 34 touchdowns. The Chiefs have a better core than the Buccaneers, but that doesn't take away the fact that both cores have future Hall of Famers. Kelce and Gronk are undoubtedly future Hall of Famers. Hill is on the verge. Brown, Watkins, Godwin, Hardman, and Evans could become Hall of Famers. These recieving cores are awesome especially when pared with phenomenal QBs like Mahomes and Brady.
Defense
Both defenses are awesome. Vita Vea and Ndamukong Suh leads the line for the Bucs with Devin White, Shaquil Barrett, and Jason Pierre-Paul leading the linebackers. Sean Murphy-Bunting ans Carlton Davis lead the cornerbacks. Jordan Whitehead protects the field leading the defense at the free safety position. This defense is a 5 star defense. It is up there with the Bills and Niners defenses. The Chiefs have Chris Jones, Taco Charlton, and Frank Clark leading the line while the Honeybadger leads the secondary. L'Jarious Snead and Rashad Fenton lead the cornerbacks while Daniel Sorenson and Tyrann Mathieu (the Honeybadger) lead at the safety position. This is great. The Chiefs are builing their linebackers up around Dorian O'Daniel. This Chiefs defense deserves a 4 3/4 stars out of 5. They are awesome. I think the Bucs' defense should be able to outshine the Chiefs' defense.
