Orlando City SC's win heightens Earthquakes' chances

Tonight the San Jose Earthquakes are playing at 5 PM PT today. They will be playing tonight against Minnesota United in the quarterfinals. The Quakes were undefeated in their group. They placed first in Group B. Group B consisted of San Jose, Seattle Sounders, Vancouver Icecaps, and Chicago Fire. Orlando City SC played against LAFC last night. LAFC has been a great team ever since joining the league in the 2018 season. Orlando City SC was an underdog heading into the match. They drew with LAFC in regulation, 1-1. The game went to penalty kicks, and Orlando City SC upset LAFC 5-4. This upset was huge. If the Quakes beat Minnesota, they will face a easier opponent, but the games are in Orlando at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Soccer Complex. If they win, the Quakes will face Orlando in the semi-finals on August 6 at 5 PM PT. This could be the first time that the Quakes could take the MLS.

On the other side of the tournament, the Portland Timbers are facing NYCFC in the quarterfinals at 7:30 PM PT tonight. The winner with face Philadelphia Union on August 5 at 5 PM PT. The Union beat Sporting Kansas City on Thursday to advance to the semis. The Union came in second in Group A. Orlando City SC won the group and NYCFC came in third while Inter Miami CF came in last. Portland came in 1st in Group F while LAFC came in 2nd, Houston came in 3rd, and LA Galaxy came in 4th. Minnesota United came in 2nd in Group D while Sporting KC came in 1st, Real Salt Lake came in 3rd, and Colorado came in last.

I think Portland will beat NYCFC and advance to the semis. I think that the Quakes will beat Minnesota, and advance to the semis. I think that Portland will suffer a loss to the Union, and the Union will advance to the Championship. I think the Quakes will beat Orlando City SC and advance to the championship. I think that the Quakes will beat the Union to win the MLS is Back Tournement!
