The Cardinals won the singles sections 3-1 with Sophia Manville, Lizzy Negri and Alena Bardashova taking dubs for the Cardinals. In the doubles, the Cardinals went 2-1 with the pairs of Lillian Roche and Luka Rodriguez and Katelyn Filben and Taylor Hannan winning their matches to secure the Newman win.

The match to watch was Sophia Manville v. Meher Dhiman, a matchup of aces. Sophia Manville took set 1 for Newman and seemed to be cruising to a win, but Dhiman rallied in the second set and took it in an incredible comeback. They decided to go into a third set instead of a tiebreaker and Manville took it 6-2 to win the match for CN, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. Manville and Dhiman were both on their A games and were exciting to watch. Long, excellent rallies and great performance underlined this matchup. Manville started and finished strong and was able to stay composed when Dhiman made a run in the 2nd set.

Lizzy Negri and Alena Bardashova both dominated in their singles victories over Amelia Wikersham and Maddie Munselle. Negri won 6-1, 6-2, beating Wikersham by finishing rallies powerfully. Bardashova showed her dominance with powerful serves and the ability to outlast Munselle in their rallies. Bardashova won 6-1, 6-3 over Munselle who showed skill in her comeback attempt in the 2nd set, winning 3 of the first 4 games. Bardashova was able to rally back though and win.

For the Hounds, Claire Berry secured the only singles victory, with a win over Matisse Gallo in 3 sets. It was a very fun match to watch with intriguing rallies and good competition. Berry started strong, winning the first set, but dropped the second. She finished strong and took the third set to win the match, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.

In doubles, the Cardinals took 2 out of 3 with Ruby Leffew and Issy Lickey dominating for Healdsburg to avoid the sweep. Luka Rodriguez and Lillian Roche took care of business in 3 sets for the Cardinals against Margaret Kosta and Sana Katsuki. In the 3rd doubles match, Taylor Hannan and Katelyn Filben rallied back after suffering defeat in the first set, winning the second set to force a tiebreaker. Hannan and Filben dominated the tiebreaker, winning 10-2 to secure the match and a 5-2 victory for Newman.

Overall, in doubles, Leffew and Lickey had a very impressive performance, knocking off Gabriella Macias and Ari Perez in straight sets. Lickey and Leffew have been playing together for a while and are poised for a fantastic Senior season.

Both teams look very good heading into a long season and it will be interesting to see how they finish at the end of the season.
